The commercial importance of polypropylene materials has been driving the investigation of polypropylene-based composites with various fillers. In this study, nanocomposites based on modified polypropylene and reactive organoclays were fabricated and characterized in order to investigate the effect of reaction upon the properties and the microstructure. Reactive organoclays were characterized by XRD, elemental analysis and FT-IR. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were evaluated, and the effects of interfacial reaction were investigated. |
