제목 Controlled Functionalization on the Surface of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes by in Situ Thiol-Lactam Initiated Radical Polymerization
초록 Polymer brushes with well-controlled thickness of the functional layers were synthesized by grafting 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) from the functionalized MWNTs via in situ thiol-lactam initiated radical polymerization (TLIRP). The covalent bonding of PHEMA to the MWNTs improved the water solubility of MWNTs. The average thicknesses of the polymer layer in the MWNTs were detected with TEM and SEM. The thickness of polymer layer can be well controlled through the in situ TLIRP approach presented here.
