Antibacterial Activity of Silver Containing Biodegradable Poly(vinyl alcohol)-block-Poly(L-lactide) Copolymer Micelles in Water |
초록 |
We synthesized uniform silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with less than 10 nm in diameter via automatic reduction from AgNO3 without using any toxic reducing agent by utilizing well-defined biodegradable and biocompatible poly(vinyl alcohol)-block-poly(L-lactide) copolymer (PLLA-b-PVA) micelles in aqueous solution. The PLLA-b-PVA was synthesized by the combination of reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer, ring opening polymerization and click chemistry. Synthesized AgNPs containing block copolymer micelles (PVA-b-PLLA@Ag) were very stable without showing any agglomeration. They showed excellent antibacterial activity against pathogenic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria with prominent minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) value, because of the effective release of AgNPs from the micelles. Also, they exhibited low cytotoxicity against normal human embryonic kidney cell. |
