PEMFCs operating above 100 ℃ has been studied due to reduced poisoning of anode catalyst, improved reaction rate and simplified water management. Nafion has a drawback of abrupt increase in resistance above 100 ℃ due to dehydration of membrane. To ensure high proton conductivity at high temperatures or low humid conditions, we studied the membrane by blend Poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS). Sol-gel reaction of APTES and TEOS was expected to form the nanopores by phase separation. This nanopores were successfully bonded with hydroxyl-terminated PDMS. PDMS was stirred with Nafion. And This solution was mixed with APTES/TEOS solution. And membrane boiled in POCl3. In the temperature ranges from 60 ℃ ~ 120 ℃, a nanoporous membrane showed high proton conductivity which was comparable with maximum conductivity of a Nafion. And The Nafion/PATP membrane shows better performances than Nafion at 120 ℃. |
