Synthesis of UV cured PDMS-PUD Composite Filmsand TheirProperties |

Water-borne polyurethane dispersions(PUD)has been known asenvironmental-friendly polymeric materials. But they have poor water-resistance and weak mechanical properties compared with solvent based PU.To enhance the poor physical properties, we synthesized poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) - PUresins and cured them by UV. To verify the resulted synthesic PDMS-PU resins, we monitored the process by fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break were measured using universal testing machine (UTM). And Thermal properties were also measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thrmogravimetric analyzer (TGA). Water resistance was verified bycontact angle test. |
