제목 CO2 hydrogenation to methanol on ZrO2/Cu-ZnO catalyst: effect of ZrO2 phases
초록 CO2 has been known to be a major chemical for a global warming, therefor the conversion of CO2 to methanol has been considered as a promising method and it is an important industrial feedstock for the synthesis of various chemicals and a potential alternative to fossil fuels. In the present study, a series of ZrO2(x)/CuO-ZnO (ZCZ) catalysts were prepared by physically mixing different phases of ZrO2 (i.e. a - amorphous, m - monoclinic and t - tetragonal) with CuO-ZnO (7:3) prepared by co-precipitation method. The results showed that the physiochemical properties of the ZCZ catalyst were strongly influenced by the states of the ZrO2 phases. In addition, the surface area of metallic copper and the ratio of strong Lewis acidic Zr4+ cation and strong Lewis basic O2- anion were also influenced by ZrO2 phases which was responsible for a higher CO2 conversion and methanol productivity.
