제목 | Temperature-responsive Succinylated Chitosan based Hydrogel Sponge with Bone Regeneration for Clinic |
초록 | Bone defects can occur from many causesincluding disease. Bone grafts(BGs) have been used to fill the defect area forreconstruction of diseased bone tissues, since they are cost effective andreadily available. However, BGs quickly disperses around the tissue area whichultimately leads to it migrating away from the defected area aftertransplantation. We tested chitosan hydrogels as a useful carrier to hold BGsin the transplantation area. In this study, we synthesized succinylatedchitosan(SCS) based hydrogel with high decomposition rate and excellentbiocompatibility. The hydrogel showed a decrease in mechanical properties, asthe succinylation rate increased. The hydrogels exhibited high cell growthand bone differentiation rate. Moreover, in vivo results showed that the hydrogel decomposed into the surrounding tissues while maintaining the BGs inthe transplantation area for up to 6 weeks. These data support the idea thatthe hydrogel can be useful for biomedical fields. |
