제목 Arsenic Adsorption by Fe-Mn Binary Oxide Incorporated Silica Extracted from Rice Husk
초록 A new material composing of binary Fe-Mn oxide supported silica extracted from Vietnam rice husk was fabricated via the sol gel method and studied for arsenic removal. Structural analysis of the synthesized material was performed by HRTEM, XRD, FTIR and XPS methods. The effect of Fe/Mn ratio and synthesized pH on arsenic adsorption were also studied. As the result, the adsorption isotherm of both As(III) and As(V) fitted well to Langmuir isotherm model. The maximum sorption capacity was calculated to be 47.6 mg/g and 17.4 mg/g for As(V) and As(III), respectively. The binary Fe-Mn oxide supported rice husk silica has potentials to be used as low cost adsorbents for removal of arsenic in water and ground water.
