Fabricating porous electrospun nanofibers with high mechanical properties, uniformity and performance has been a challenge. Here, we fabricated porous electrospun poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) nanofibers from PVDF/ PEO/ water composite by selective removal of PEO from the composite. The nanofibers were characterized by SEM, UTM, AFM, FT-IR, CFP and BET. The porous nanofibers exhibit much higher mechanical properties, surface area, flux rate and higher water contact angle of 156o. The porous nanofibers showed a better filtration performance than the pure PVDF nanofiber for oil-in-water filtration. |
