Conjugated polymers (CPs) have been widely used in organic electronics such as organic field effect transistors (OFETs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In CP-based organic electronic devices, device performance is significantly affected by the microstructure of the CP. Therefore, a large number of research groups have attempted to modulate microstructures of CPs via side chain engineering. One of the effective ways of side chain engineering is to control the position of side chains on the CP backbones. There have been many studies reported on this relations using regioregular poly(3-alkylthiophene) and regiorandom poly(3-alkylthiophene). In this work, we investigate effects of regioregularity of thiophene-based polymers on the formation of microstructures. |
