We manufactured a series of cross-linked nanocomposite films based on crystalline olefin copolymers and multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) via solution casting and following electron beam (EB)-assisted curing, and investigated their microstructures, thermal and electrical properties as functions of the MWCNT content (8.0-22.2 wt%) and EB irradiation dose (0-300 kGy) by using electron microscopes, differential scanning calorimeter, and multimeters, respectively. In addition, the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect of the nanocomposite films was also characterized for their potential applications including self-controlled electric heating films, over-current protectors, sensors, etc. |
