The novel D-A alternating copolymers (PIDT-DFQx, PIDT-DTDFQx) having low band gap were synthesized by polymerization like a Stille coupling reaction using palladium catalyst. Di-fluorinated quinoxaline (DFQx) was used as an electron-deficient unit, while alkyl phenyl substituted indacenodithiophene (IDT) was used as an electron-rich unit. In order to check out influence of thiophene bridge, either DFQx or thiophene substituted DFQx on both side was designed and synthesized. Both of the polymers exhibited strong absorption in the range of 558- 576 nm in solution state. PIDT-DTDFQx exhibited broader absorption spectra than PIDT-DFQx, because PIDT-DTDFQx had a Donor- π-Acceptor type structure whit thiophene as a molecular spacer for facilitating the electronic coupling. Resultingly, these polymers showed 0.93%, 2.87% of power conversion efficiency (PCE), respectively. |
