Catalytic properties of Cu-Mn oxide composites prepared by redox-precipitation |

The porous nanocomposite of catalytic copper-manganese oxide was prepared by a redox-precipitation method and its CO removal efficiency at room temperature was investigated. In this study, the effect of solution pH on porous texture and Cu/Mn stoichiometry in the precipitate was systematically compared. In a typical process, the potassium permanganate was dissolved into the colloidal synthetic layer silicate solution, followed by a dropwise addition of aqueous solution of manganese acetate, and copper acetate under vigorous stirring. The solution pH was adjusted simultaneously to 7.0 by addition base solution during precipitate reaction. The resultant precipitate was filtered, washed thoroughly, dried at 120 ℃, and finally heat treated at 300 ℃ for 2 hrs in air. The structures and properties of the mixed oxide catalyst were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy(XRF), nitrogen isotherm analysis and CO removal efficiency test. |
