In this study, the mechanical properties, thermal behaviors, and morphology of glass fiber-reinforced polyketone with different thermal exposure times at 140℃ were studied. The changes in the PK/GF composites during thermal aging process were investigated by using universal testing machine (UTM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and so on. The PK/GF composites retained its initial tensile strength up to around 800 hours and finally it retained 67% at the end of the test. SEM was performed to analyze the tensile fracture surfaces and the interfacial fiber/matrix adhesion. The results indicated that highly retained tensile strength is attributed to the good adhesion between fiber and matrix. |
