제목 Effect of Surface Treatment of Nano sized Silicas on Curing Behaviors and Thermo-mechanical Properties of Liquid Crystalline Nanocomposites
초록 In this work, a liquid crystalline epoxy, diglycidyl ether of 4,4'-bis(4-hydroxybenzoyloxy) biphenyl, was synthesized. Nano sized silicas have been modified by 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane and silica/DGE-BHBBT nanocomposites were prepared by melting method. The curing behaviors and thermal properties of the nanocomposites were investigated by DSC. As a result, the surface treated silicas could influence on exothermal peaks and reaction enthalpy of curing and the glass transition temperature (Tg). Mechanical properties were increased with addition of silicas. It was due to the improved interaction between silica fillers and DGE-BHBBP.
