Role of pH in TiO2 coated MWCNT photocatalysis |

The photocatalytic degradation of a dye Procion Blue was investigated in aqueous solution using TiO2 coated MWCNTs. The catalyst was prepared by hydrolysis of Titanium n-Butoxide(TNB) on the surface of MWCNTs and thermally treated at 450℃. In order to investigate the effect of pH in photocatalytic degradation, various pH of Procion Blue solutions were prepared in acidic and alkaline range and studied. The photocatalytic degradation was performed at batch type UV reactor. The concentration of Procion Blue was measured by UV-vis spectrometer at 600nm wavelength. |
