제목 Aqueous Dispersion of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Quaternized Poly(quaternized vinylimidazole)-co-Poly(vinyl amine)
초록 Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWNT) have come into the spotlight owing to their wide applications in the field of composite materials. However, the low dispersion of SWNT in solvents and in host matrices is a major impediment for their application development. Among various approaches to improve dispersion stability of SWNT, non-covalent functionalization of SWNT is especially effective method for application development because it offers stable dispersion without defect formation on SWNT surface. In this study, we report aqueous dispersion of SWNT with a random copolymer, the quaternized poly(vinyl imidazole)-co-poly(vinyl amine) (PQVIm-co-PVAm). PQVIm-co-PVAm was synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) and characterized by GPC, 1H NMR and FT-IR. Unbundled structures of SWNT without defect formation were observed by TEM and AFM. The dispersion stability of SWNT with PQVIm-co-PVAm was studied using a turbiscan optical analyzer.
