제목 Polyurethanes and Waterborne Polyurethane with Self Polishing Behavior
초록 Antifouling paints have been used to prevent marine organisms from attaching them to the ship hulls which makes the ship spend more fuel on plying by increasing weight of ship hulls. There are many types of antifouling paints. Among them the acrylic tin-free self-polishing copolymer(TF-SPC)s have been applicated mostly. According to a recent study, many other alternative TF-SPC antifouling coatings have been developed. Polyurethane(PU) and waterborne polyurethane(WPU) resins are considered to be applied as a new antifouling paint matrix. In this study, PU and WPU resins were synthesized by polyethylene glycol(PEG), poly(tetramethylene adipate) glycol(PTAd), 4,4’-diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI), 2,2’-bis(hydroxyl methyl)-propionic acid(DMPA), 1,4-butanediol and various quaternary ammonium salts(QAS) which are effective biocides. And the PU and WPU resins were tested by the laser scan micrometer to confirm the self-polishing property by measuring film thickness.
