The acrylic copolymers, which were used as base polymer for PSA, were synthesized by solution polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid with AIBN as an initiator. Adhesion performance and wettability of acrylic PSA were studied depending on the content of silane coupling agent. The characteristics of the PSA/silane blends were examined by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and gel fraction. The adhesion performance of acrylic PSA was investigated using probe tack, peel strength, and cohesiveness tests. The adhesion property of PSA was improved with increase in silane content due to the improved wettability of adhesive on the substrate. |
