In this work, chemically treated activated carbons (ACs) were prepared to investigate the adsorption behaviors of lithium ion. The chemical treatment of ACs was carried out in various acid or alkali solutions. The textural properties of prepared ACs were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. Structual properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Morphologies and charge characteristics of prepared ACs were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and zeta potential, respectively. The lithium ion adsorption capacity of prepared ACs was analyzed by atomic adsorption spectroscopy (AAS). From the results, it was found that the lithium ion adsorption behaviors were influenced by chemical treatment of ACs. |
