Selective detection of polymerized novel amphiphile based on catechol |

Dopamine, a derivative of catechol, is known as a constituent of mussel plaque which provides strong adhesion on many substrates. Here we report our effort to utilize the unique properties of dopamine and diacetylene by combining them into the amphiphilic molecular architecture which may generate interesting color changeable structures. A series of amphiphilic compounds based on dopamine and diacetylene was synthesized and characterized. Selective detection property of the synthesized compound on some substances will be discussed. |
