제목 Fabrication of Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/poly(acrylic acid)(PAA) composite nanofibers using electrospinning methods
초록 Water soluble polymers, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) are popularly used in drug delivery system and biomedical applications due to their superior biocompatibility and nontoxicity. However, their higher water solubility limits potential applications requiring non-soluble substrates. In this study, we fabricated non-soluble PVA/PAA sheets in water using thermal cross linking method which is a reaction between a carboxyl group of PVA and a hydroxyl group of PAA at high temperature. Electrospun PVA/PAA nanofibers were crosslinked under various temperatures and time intervals, and a surface morphology and chemical changes of the nanofibers were analysed by SEM, FTIR-ATR. In results, when the heating time and temperature were increased, the nanofibers maintained their nanofibrous structure without desolving in water. Therefore, the non-soluble PVA/PAA nanofibers may have a chance to use in the biomedical application
