Development of New Catalyst System of Direct Ethanol Reforming MCFC |

Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell (MCFC) has wide range of compatible fuels including ethanol. In the work presented, "bio-ethanol," ethanol produced by fermentation biomaterial, will be fed directly to the anode. To develop a new MCFC system that can use bio-ethanol as a fuel directly giving high performance and long term stability, the development of a catalyst which can be coated on MCFC anode and withstand both from high temperature and Li/K carbonate electrolyte was employed. The developed co-precipitated catalysts competed with commercial catalysts in terms of conversion of ethanol and H2 selectivity. |
