t-butyl substituted hole type host, N,N-bis(4-(tert-butyl)phenyl)-3,5-bis(3,6-di-tert-butyl-9H-carbazol-9-yl)aniline (t-DCDPA) was synthesized for high triplet energy exciplex formation with 2,8-bis(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)dibenzo[b,d]furan (DBFTrz) which is electron type host. To compare this host material, tris(4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)amine (TCTA) and 3,5-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (DCDPA) were used. DCDPA:DBFTrz pair showed the highest triplet energy (2.95 eV) and t-DCDPA:DBFTrz pair have similar triplet energy with DCDPA:DBFTrz pair (2.94 eV). TCTA:DBFTrz pair showed the lowest triplet energy (2.83 eV). In device, t-DCDPA:DBFTrz pair showed the highest maximum quantum efficiency, 16.4% in comparison of DCDPA:DBFTrz pair (15.3%) and TCTA:DBFTrz pair (8.7%). This work was demonstrated that using synthesized hole transport type host was effective in deep blue phosphorescent OLED. |
