제목 The Influence of Polymer Degradations upon the Reliability of Surface Properties
초록 Reliability means the ability of system or component to perform its required functions under stated conditions for a specific period of time. The essential of materials reliability is to investigate on the time dependent degradation of materials. In this talk, our recent studies on the photodegradation of functional polymeric materials will be firstly dealt. Herein, the deformation behaviors of polymer colloidal crystals during photoaging were investigated. Photoaging induced chemical changes and modifications in the materials surface, which influences upon optical properties. Secondly, case studies on the analysis of discoloration mechanism of functional polymer materials will be reported. Discoloration of polymer materials is one of the most important problems affecting the quality of commercial products. In this presentation, discoloration problems of two polymeric materials (UV-curable hybrid thin coating and polymer surface in contact with water) were examined.
