A study on the alignment and stabilization of LCLC composite films |

Lyotropic chromonic liquid crystals (LCLCs) were used to make a coatable polarizer due to their self-assembling structure. The most important problems should be solved in making coatable polarizer films with LCLCs are how to increase their polarizability and stability simultaneously. In this study, we have made LCLC composite films with V20 and acrylate monomer for increase of LCLC film stability. We also tried to know the parameters affecting the LC alignment in composite films and propose a new method for making LCLC composite films with better alignment and coating property. The stability and alignment properties of LCLC composite film were examined by using of hardness testing machine and polarizing microscope. |
