제목 Fabrication and Stabilization of a Coatable Polarizer using Photopolymerization
초록 Through a lyotropic liquid crystalline (LLC) molecular self-assembly, a coatable polarizer, which can be an inevitable component for flexible displays, was successfully fabricated from Sunset Yellow FCF using a doctor blade. In order to stabilize the LLC polarizer as well as to minimize the possible defects generated during and after the coating, acrylic acid monomer with 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl-diphenyl phosphine (TPO) initiator was applied. Optical and physical properties of the stabilized coatable polarizer were studied and their results were compared with those of unsterilized ones. Furthermore, phase structures and molecular orientations were further investigated by utilizing polarized FT-IR and wide-angle x-ray diffraction (WAXD).
