제목 Properties of Acid-acid Blend MembranesBased on Sulfonated Poly(arylene ether sulfone)s for Proton Exchange Membrane in Fuel Cells
초록 Direct methanol fuel cells are attractive for portable and automobile power sources, but their commercialization is hampered by high methanol permeability and the high cost of the currently used Nafion membranes. Various acid-acid blend membranes were prepared to improve defects of DMFC. In this study two acid polymers based on sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone)s were synthesized with BP and HPF, respectively and various acid-acid blend membranes having with different weight ratio compositions were fabricated from above polymers. It was supposed that acid-acid blend membranes would affect to the change of surfaces morphology, improvement of proton conductivity and lower the fuel crossover. We expect that the acid-acid blend membranes could furnish to improve properties of proton exchange membranes and would be strong candidates for an alternative of Nafion-based membranes.
