The synthetic rubber composites, which is widely used as the core material for the automobile tire industry, is manufactured by mixing organic styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and inorganic filler. The most important factor affecting the physical properties of rubber composites is the interaction between the filler and the rubber, which affects the rotational, braking and abrasion resistance. We prepared novel dispersants to enhance silica content and dispersity in tire tread composites using wet master batch (WMB) system. The dispersants were prepared by the copolymerization of carboxylic functionalized monomer with acrylic acid or acrylamide. The comonomer input ratio and dispersant synthetic conditions were changed to improve the silica loading content and dispersity in WMB system. The WMB system was consisted of the steps involving dispersants synthesis, silica modification, dispersion of modified silica in SBR emulsion latex, and coagulation of silica-SBR composites. |
