For relatively insoluble drugs, nanoparticle engineering of drug crystals is an important tool for efficient and intelligent drug delivery. Recently, it was reported that polymer adsorption was a critical process to prepare nanocrystals via wet comminution process of drug particles. In this study, the nature of interactions between polymers and drugs was systematically investigated by using polymers and drugs of various different properties. The preparation of polymer-adsorbed drug nanocrystals significant relied on the physical properties of polymer used. In addition to comminution approach, a novel approach to prepare drug nanoparticles using electrospraying will be presented based on our recent achievement. |
