We report here the synthesis and pseudo heterogeneous behavior of hydroxy substituted Ni diimine complexes towards ethylene polymerization. The activity with different cocatalysts has been thoroughly investigated; out of which ethyl aluminum sesquichloride showed remarkable activity even at very low concentrations in normal conditions. Polymerization with bulky substituted diimine ligands to polymerize ethylene yields a high molecular weight polyethylene, which vary with the microstructure of the catalyst. The polyethylene has been characterized by NMR, GPC, DSC and SEM. |
