제목 New high performance n-type Bi2Te3-based thermoelectric materials by incorporating K2Sex (x = 1 - 6)
초록 Thermoelectric (TE) materials enable direct mutual conversion between heat and electric energy without moving components in the device structure. Accordingly, they are promising for eco-friendly power generation by recovering waste heat. Bi2Te3-based compounds are representative materials operating near room temperature. Their n-type materials are much underdeveloped and underperforms in comparison with the p-type counterparts. Here we report the synthesis of new n-type Bi2Te3-based system by incorporating K2Sex (x = 1 - 6). Introducing K2Se6 results in the highest peak TE figure of merit ZT of ~0.97 at 420 K among the series. The achieved high ZT is attributed to significantly suppressed thermal conductivity of ~0.99 W m-1 K-1 at 420 K.
