제목 Investigation of P(VDF-TrFE)-encapsulated Ni/NiO foam magnetoelectric filter for PM removal
초록   Particulate matter (PM) which is a micron-sized airborne pollutant has been produced from many countries, resulting in respiratory and cardiovascular diseases of humans. For a decade, electrospun membrane filters have commonly been used due to their strong electrostatic force by applying electric field during electrospinning process. However, these electrospun membrane filters have still exhibited high pressure drop and weak mechanical properties. 

  In this study, P(VDF-TrFE)-encapsulated Ni/NiO (PT-Ni/NiO) foam magnetoelectric (ME) filters were designed to investigate ME effect on the PM removal. In particular, Ni/NiO foams were prepared by thermal oxidation with a range of 300-700℃ to introduce hydroxyl groups that can induce electrostatic interaction with CH2 bonds of P(VDF-TrFE) on the surface of Ni/NiO foam. PT-Ni/NiO were then fabricated by dip-coating process. As a result, PT-Ni/NiO ME filters were found to exhibit high filtration efficiency of 90% without any pressure drop.
