Photo-penton degradation of Bisphenol A (BPA) using Biomimeric Metal-Organic Framework catalysts |

In wastewater treatment, trace organic compounds (TOrCs) have been considered as a top priority for removal owing to their estrogen-like chemical structure. Despite many efforts using membrane filtration, ozone treatment, and adsorption, trace amounts of Bisphenol A were still existed in wastewater and inducing severe illness. Herein, we successfully decompose bisphenol A with biomimetic MOFs based on photosensitive penton-oxidation. The combination of biomimetic MOF and metal-oxide provide synergetic effect for efficient degradation of Bisphenol A. Comprehensively, these novel materials were anticipated as a potential material for water purification technology. |
