제목 Optically switchable nanofiber membrane for on-demand drug delivery
초록 Externally stimuli responsive on-demand drug delivery system could release drugs at the ideal time and ideal dose for a specific disease in a patient without an additional surgery. We have developed the versatile membrane using the thermo responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) containing of gold nanorods(GNRs) by an electrospinning process. This light-responsive membrane generates localized heat around the GNRs in the fiber upon NIR irradiation. The increased heat of the membrane causes shrinkage of PNIPAM fiber, accelerating the release rate of drugs. The surface morphology of fabricated membrane was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the released quantity of drugs was measured by fluorescence spectroscopy. We expect that this novel drug delivery system will improve a therapeutic efficacy and patients comfort and alleviate side effects.
