Simplistic Syntheses of Various Supported Metal Catalysts for Amines and Alcohol Oxidation and Nitrile Hydration under Benign Conditions |

The manganese dioxide metal catalysts were synthesized successfully by simple impregnation method at room temperature. Characterization of catalyst was carried out by using SEM, TEM, XRD along with EDS mapping analysis. Results indicated that metal hydroxide species was dispersed evenly on the surface of solid supports rather than agglomeration. The as-synthesized catalysts were used for various reactions such as dehydrogenative oxidation alcohols and amine as well as hydration of nitriles under moderate conditions. The heterogeneous catalysts showed good to excellent yields and selectivities for the desired products and also demonstrated the high mechanical strength upon recycling for several times. |
