The electrochemical stability of allyl and/or vinyl functionalized ionic liquids (ILs), 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([AMIm]TF2N) and 1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([AVIm]Tf2N), were investigated. 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([EMim]BF4) mixed with 5% of [AMIm]Tf2N were used as an electrolyte for supercapacitor and investigated using NMR spectrometry after charge/discharge cycles. To study the passivated materials on electrode, [AMIm]Tf2N and [AVIm]Tf2N were subjected by cyclic voltammetry. The passivated brown powders of each IL were washed and dried followed by studying with FT-IR spectroscopy. Based on the experimental results, allyl and/or vinyl functional groups were more sensitive to the redox reaction on electrode than imidazolium and formed anion-exchangeable polymeric materials. |
