The tow prepreg refers to a tow-type prepreg in which a certain ratio of resin is pre-wetted into reinforcing fibers such as a single carbon fiber, glass fiber, aramid, and is an intermediate material for filament winding methods. Recently, as research on the development of high-performance pressure vessels has become active, interest in tow prepregs, which are materials for dry winding methods, has increased. When a low viscosity epoxy resin is used in manufacturing the tow prepreg, a pressure container or a fiber-reinforced composite material may be manufactured without using a solvent. An enhanced epoxy system may be completed by introducing a functional additive such as engineering plastic and basalt to the epoxy resin. In this study, the curing temperature and curing time characteristics of the epoxy resin used in the tow prepreg were analyzed. In addition, in order to satisfy properties suitable for various industries, the properties were evaluated by introducing a functional additive for simultaneously improving the high properties and mechanical properties of the epoxy resin. |
