제목 | Application of Quantum Dots to Photoelectrochemical Energy Devices |
초록 | Among the various renewable energy sources, solar energy conversion devices have been regarded as a promising way to satisfy the growing energy demand. For highly-efficient solar energy conversion, it is important to employ efficient photosensitizers that have superior light-harvesting capability. In this regard, quantum dots (QDs) are promising photosensitizer candidates because of their high absorption coefficient, band gap tunability, and potential multiple exciton generation (MEG) effect. In this talk, the synthesis and application of QD photosensitizers for the efficient photoelectrochemical energy devices will be discussed. Especially, we have applied PbS/Mn-doped CdS QDs to the solar cells and solar water splitting. These QDs exhibited greatly high photocurrent and conversion efficiency. In addition, we have synthesized and applied the Cu-In-Se QDs for the efficient and toxic heavy-metal-free photoelectrochemical energy conversion system. |
