제목 Synthesis of Mono-and Dinuclear Constrained Geometry Zirconium Catalysts and Investigation of their Polymerization Activities
초록 The polymethylene bridged dinuclear constrained geometry zirconium catalysts (CH2)nBis[Me2Si(Ind)(N-tert-butyl)ZrCl2](n=6, 9) along with the mononuclear zirconium catalyst Me2Si(n-butyl-Ind)(N-tert-butyl)ZrCl2 have been prepared and studied their olefin polymerization properties to investigate the effects of the bridging ligand on polymerization. These catalysts are synthesized by the reaction of ZrCl4 with the corresponding lithium salts of ligands in either toluene or ether as a solvent. All complexes are characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR. The polymerization behavior has been analyzed with respect to catalytic activity and thermal properties of the generated polymers. All of the the dinuclear complexes showed lower activities than the mononuclear one. As the bridge ligand length is increased from hexamethylene to a dodecamethylene the activity of the catalyst becomes higher. Contrast to the corresponding titanium-based complexes the zirconium catalysts prepared in this study did not produce copolymer of ethylene and styrene.
