Infrared and Raman spectroscopy are powerful tools for investigating the molecular and solid state structures of organic semiconductors which are used as active layers in opto-electronic devices, such as thin film transistor(TFT), light-emitting diode and photovoltaic solar cell. Pentacene which is a fused ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon is a highly promising material for high performance p-channel organic thin film transistor(OTFT). It has been investigated that the performance of OTFT is mainly governed by the crystal structure of semiconductor. In this study, we have investigated surface dependent crystal structures of polycrystalline pentacene films with different thickness ranging from several monolayers to a few hundred nanometers using atomic force microscopy, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy. |
