The silica- coated graphene were prepared by a simple microwave irradiation. Microwave method is a time-saving and easy way to synthesize spherical particles in uniform size. Poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) was used as a coupling agent and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), as the silica precursor. In this study, we controlled the surface resistivity of the fabricated SiO2@graphene by varying the amount of the PVP and silica spheres with changing the irradiation time. The graphene coated with silica was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). This novel graphene/silica would possibly be an electrically insulating filler with good thermal conductivity. |
