Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) added a little bit of Carbon nanotube(CNT) is rather light but has the strong mechanical properties via reinforced effect between two carbon materials. So It is widely used in automobile body frame to reduce the weight of body which improves the fuel efficiency. Additionally, since various fields started to apply high strength plastic materials, research to soar its mechanical properties actively achieved. In this study, we prevented separating CF from Polyamide 6,6(PA66) by chemical treatment of CNT and CF when we synthesize the hybrid filler using CNT grafted CF. This method improved the adhesion of CF and made strong covalent bonding in contrast with the method catalytic growth CNT on CF. The hybrid filler and PA66 were melt-mixed in a twin extruder and formed nano-carbon composite. For evaluation, we implemented several tests of composites’ mechanical properties. The surface treatment and the covalent bonding between carbon materials were confirmed with FT-IR and XPS analyses. |
