Effect of non-covalent functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes on the mechanical and electrical properties for polyamide 6/MWNT nanocomposites |
초록 |
The attractive properties such as high mechanical and electrical properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been lead as ideal reinforcing fillers for polymers composites. In order to enhance the dispersion of CNTs in polymer matrix, pyrene moieties containing amide group with different number of alkyl chain have been introduced to functionalize the surface of multi-walled CNTs (MWNTs) by non-covalent method. Polyamide 6 (PA 6)/MWNT nanocomposites was prepared by melt-compounding and the flexural and impact test were carried out. Non-covalently functionalized MWNTs improved much higher in flexural and impact strength than those of pristine nanocomposites. The sheet resistance of PA 6/non-covalently functionalized MWNT nanocomposites exhibited considerable decreases at 1 phr addition without defect site on inherent structure of MWNTs, which is attributed to better dispersion of MWNTs in PA 6 matrix. |
