’Sour waters’, those process water streams containing substantial quantities of hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide and ammonia etc. are commonly purified by stripping with steam. Because effluent water quality regulation is getting more important, sour water stripping has emerged as an important process. However, the design technology and the optimum operation of this system have not been established theoretically. Also, there are lots of abnormal phenomena in operating this process. So, this research investigates the dynamics of sour water stripping column. After considering it, we can solve the abnormal operating problems and control the process properly. In the last, we intended to elevate the stripping efficiency, i.e., to strip much H2S into top of D/S and to satisfy the NH3 composition below 100ppmw in A/S. Process simulator is used to recognize the dynamics of the process.To reduce the steam usage, we must consider other structure or operate with other conditions. This object will be researched continuously. With entering the caustic such as NaOH, in other words, varying the PH in column, the study on the effect of PH will be good subject.
