제목 Effect of Regularly Agglomerated State in {101}-Oriented Bipyramidal TiO2 for Efficient Interparticle Charge Transfer
초록 We successfully synthesized uniformly and densely packed TiO2 agglomerates consisting of ~20 nm-sized bipyramidal particles with {101}-oriented facets and systematically studied the interparticle charge transfer in the hierarchically structured (HS) TiO2 bipyramid agglomerates (BPA) for achieving high photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical performances. The photocatalytic activity for production of hydrogen and degradation of 4-chlorophenol with BPA are much higher than those with c-BPA (crashed BPA by ball-milling) and P25 (as a reference) under UV light (λ > 320 nm). This is due to the morphological and crystallographical advantages of BPA sample such as i) uniformly and densely packed agglomerates and bipyramidal shape of primary particles for efficient interparticle charge transfer, ii) accessible mesopores for the diffusion of substrates, iii) exposed {101} facets, and iv) high crystallinity. Such an interparticle charge transfer effect is also confirmed by photoelectrochemical (PEC) experiments.
