Carbon based materials as the anode, which are of low cost and easy handling in synthesis process, are widely used in most of Li-ion battery systems. However, the carbon anode has a limitation in the theoretical capacity of 372mAhg-1. Therefore, it is required to search for new anode materials. Silicon is regarded as anode material for Li-ion batteries. Si anode has the limitation in the theoretical capacity of 4200mAhg-1. However, the cycling performance of silicon is poor, because of its severe volume expansion and shrinkage during the insertion and extraction of Li-ions, which results in pulverization of Si particles and eventual loss of Li-ion storage ability. In this study, we synthesized silsesquianzane(SSQZ) as an anode for Li-ion batteries. SSQZ could be transformed to silicon based inorganic materials by a pyrolysis at high temp. under Ar atmosphere. The prepared silicon based inorganic materials showed an excellent electrochemical performance as an anode for Li-ion batteries. |
