The biodegradability of oil in natural ecosystem is low and oily components can hinder biological functions in the environment for a long time. Therefore, treating oily wastewater is essential to environment protection, but also because they contain valuable materials that could be recovered and reuse for other purposes. The performance of polyvinylidene fluoride membranes for oily wastewater separation can be characterized according to their permeability, rejection efficiency, and fouling resistance. The ability to select a proper material for polyvinylidene fluoride membrane formation as well as choosing the best membrane preparation technique plays a very crucial role in the polyvinylidene fluoride membrane performance for oily wastewater separation. In this work, we were going to fabricate nonwoven fibrous polyvinylidene fluoride membranes in a single-step process via electrospinning technique using nanocomposite solution. We discussed the performance of neat ultrathin fibrous polyvinylidene fluoride membrane and their enhancement. |
