Poly(ethylene glycol) and Poly(L-lactide) Block Copolymers Prepared in the Presence of a Non-metalic monomer activator |
초록 |
In this article, we describe the synthesis of poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(L-lactide) block copolymers via ring opening polymerization (ROP) of L-lactide (LA) monomers initiated at the hydroxyl end group of PEG using trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (CF3SO3H) as a monomer activator. The PLLAs obtained had molecular weights close to the theoretical values calculated from the LA:PEG molar ratios, and no side-reactions were observed. A 1H-NMR spectroscopic study showed that the LA carbonyl carbon signal exhibited a change in chemical shift to lower field, caused by electron delocalization of the carbonyl carbon by CF3SO3H. We successfully prepared PEG and PLLA block copolymers using activated monomer mechanism. We believe the results of the present study provide new options in the preparation of biomaterials for biomedical applications.
