Self-assembled nanostructure of conjugated rod-coil block copolymers in thin film |

One of the most fascinating properties of block copolymers is their ability to self-assemble into ordered nanostructures. The self-assembly of conjugated rodcoil block copolymers has been demonstrated as a powerful route towards supramolecular objects with novel architectures, functions and physical properties. When the π-conjugated rods are incorporated into the rodcoil block copolymers, their photophysical properties are associated, to a large extent, with their self-assembling. In this work, the self-assembling behavior of rod-coil diblock copolymer was explored for poly(3-hexylthiophene)-bpoly (methyl methacrylate)(P3HT-b-PMMA) thin films. Highly-ordered, self-assembled nanostructure was observed depending on the block composition and processing conditions. Their optical properties were examined by ultraviolet-visible(UV-VIS) spectroscopy and found to depend on their nanostructure. |
